um. Probably.

Melbpc had a discussion about a VOIP phone that plugs into the ADSL  
modem/router. You then use Skype to do your calls outgoing. Incoming is a  
bit of a bugger.

Iprimus offers broadband with the tag never pay for a local call again...  
I suspect that is either a bundle or a VOIP in disguse. You get to keep  
your current phone #

I want to use westnet, being MPC's prefered carrier. I would need to spend  
about $300 on the adsl modem, router and VOIP phone, but after that it's  
skype and low cost phone use. Or perhaps freecall.net.au?

not bad.  For only $10 more I get broadband :-) presuming skype is that  
cheap.
