the interesting thing about this document is that it specifies 2 EIRP limits - 
500 mW for FHSS and 4W for non-FHSS - but I also get the idea (and will have 
to read again when not tired) that there is a device manufactured on 
disclaimer... e.g. old devices are still allowed (required? to opperate under 
old rules? On re-reading, that seems to be the case - manufactured, imported 
or modified after commencement 2002, between 1996 old rules and 2002 new 
rules still abide by old rules.

this is interesting. I have an old 802.11 card - it outputs 650 mW.

this is legal under the old rules (4W for ch 1-9, 200mW for ch 10-13) for ch 
1-9 for both fhss and dsss, but illegal now, (4W for ch 1-13 for non-FHSS, 
200mW for FHSS)
