DWL-900AP and Linux

has anyone heard (or thought) about running linux on these beasties?

according to the web page[1] that was referred to on the samba wireless
list today, they have a Samsung S3C4510B CPU[2] and 64MB of SDRAM[3]. a
quick search of google[4] reveals that linux has already been ported to
this CPU and it is being used in several embedded linux devices, e.g.
the Synso "soLinux Embedded Computer"[5].

i think that the DWL900 has 2MB of flash rom, which is more than enough
for a bootp or dhcp client and a tftp client to download a kernel image.
the root filesystem could be NFS mounted from a server on the local
ethernet.

it would be a LOT of work to get linux running on these. i'm wondering
if anyone is already working on it. i'm no kernel-hacker but i'd be
interested in porting a small subset of debian to it to make a
debian-based wireless router distribution (decent package management
tools are useful even on embedded devices like routers).

you may be asking "Why? why would you want to do this?". lots of
reasons. ipchains firewalling. linux routing & bridging. decent
encryption. secure configuration via ssh or https. good logging and
data gathering. and because it would be cool :)
