imho, one of the most important things in any organisation, is keeping the
members informed of what the workers / volunteers helping to run things are
up to. Besides keeping people interested, it also adds a level of
transparency to things, and stops some of the silly questions that
organisers might get!
ie. updates to the nodeDB - we know their coming, and the constant questions
about are prolyl pissing drew off :-)
Something that used to work quite well at www.distributed.net is a webpage
that displays users .plans from the server. This makes it easy for the
organisers to keep us informed, just by updating their .plan file in their
home directory. you can see distributed.net 's one at
http://n0cgi.distributed.net/cgi/dnet-finger.cgi
the other option might be an open fortnightly / monthly email from steve to
the general members....
just an idea...
