Hi,
I forwarded this to the Melbourne committee yesterday and have not had
any response. I thought I might openly propose it to the list for
everyone to consider.
Regards
Jamie

Hi,
This came out of the technical meeting here in Sydney last night ..
we're nutting it out now. How do you guy's feel about a national, group
independant namespace?
Regards

... our first choice (which we've pre-emptively registered) is
cw.net.au, which loosely stands for Community Wireless Network
Australia.
This is not to say that it will fall under a new association,
organization, or group, but will be available namespace for all networks
to use.
Another advantage is that it is short, and legal for external DNS if we
can use it later ..
Hosts would likely be in the format of:
hostname.sub-region.region.cw.net.au
Such as:
frodo.syd.nsw.cw.net.au
.. and on a first come first serve basis, it could also be:
frodo.cw.net.au
Thoughts?
Regards
Jamie
