MIMO (Multiple-In, Multiple-Out) actually looks quite interesting for
getting good links in non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) situations. The problem
is - you need three or more antennas per device to make it work well.

Note that MIMO is not exactly the same thing as Belkin's "Pre-N"
product. 802.11n is touted to feature MIMO technology, the Belkin
"Pre-N" stuff features MIMO but also adds channel bonding - similar to
the Netgear Super-G stuff that occupies two wireless channels at once.
MIMO is supposed to decrease interference with other equipment on the
same radio channel, but channel bonding increases interference.

Cheers,

Dan

Linksys adds MIMO to new 802.11g router

Linksys has added Airgo's MIMO chip technology to its newest 802.11g
WLAN
router, the Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX. The Wireless-G
Broadband
Router with SRX combines Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) smart
antenna technology with standards-based 802.11g networking, giving users
faster data speeds and enhanced network range. The device has received
mostly positive reviews.
