Hi to all you good Melbourne wireless folk!
Been a while for me as I am now living and working in New York. However
I wonder if any of you can help me from afar. I need to pitch an idea to
wireless hardware companies such as Ubiquiti, Buffalo, Qualcomm,
Senao/EnGenius, etc but am at something of a loss for contacts. If any
of you know people in these or similar companies please let me know.
Even if it is so I can ask them who the 'right' person within the
company is that I should talk to.
A couple of other things I am involved with that may interest some of
you... I will be speaking at a conference on spectrum policy in May;
"Spectrum for Democracy: Securing the gains from the Arab Spring". This
conference is looking at spectrum policy for
post-revolution/post-transition countries such as Tunisia, Egypt and
Iraq. There is a unique opportunity in such places to put policy in
place that encourages greater community use - so as community wireless
people what would you like to see enshrined in a nation's spectrum policy?
At Access we have also been working on Tor (The Onion Router anonymizing
network) for OpenWRT. If any of you are interested to try it the code
etc can be found here https://www.accesslabs.org/
Also if you would like to give feedback, or get involved in it in any
way please feel free to contact me.
