[MLB-WIRELESS] Recommendations for openwrt to do client mode

Hi Guys,

I'm considering purchasing an router to re-flash with openwrt (or similar)
to provide a wireless client (end point).

This router will need to connect to another standard access point. I will
not be shooting for a distance record so rf output is secondary. :-) While I
have wicked the Melbourne wireless wiki, the last update appears to be
15/08/07. (http://melbourne.wireless.org.au/wiki/?WL500GP)

As a starting point How would a ASUS WL-500G Premium go?
