[MLB-WIRELESS] directional versus omni directional antennas

can someone explain to me what is better for long rong wireless internet

i have a linksys wap54g router and want to be able to pickup my internet

from as far as possible from my home., luckily it is 2 story so there is no 
one blocking my

signal..
