[MLB-WIRELESS] bouncing off a survey marker on top of a hill? (fwd)

Hi All,

It is highly unlikely that these could be used as anything but radar 
"markers", as they've been built to present a "known" RCS (Radar Cross 
Section). The RCS of an object is effectively its radar "signature" - 
eg, it returns a specific scattering. You will see these markers 
scattered across Melbourne and on top of certain buildings in the city.

This particular marker might be used for navigation - since it is close 
to the airport (or since there is a radar in the background, possibly 
for calibration).
