[MLB-WIRELESS] OT: Vodaphone GPRS (Mobile Connect) and laptops

Hi,
i know this isnt strictly melb wireless gear, but, thought its likely 
people on this list may have investigated this..
It's Vodafone Mobile Connect. (aka gprs internet via pcmcia card)....
bascially its a card you plug into your laptop and it gives you internet 
access (at hidious prices)
has anyone played with this? does it work as advertised?
