Hi,
I have recieved some more email on these, and just to keep people
informed, Im following up this generally.
I have found a competing product that looks pretty decent, a little bit
more wlan specific, by some cew called pcengines. Details as follows;
* MiniPCI (optionally dual MiniPCI)
* Geode 233/266MHz proc
* 64Mb ram onboard
* 10/100 ethernet (optional dual ether)
* serial port controlable bios
* Passive POE (7 - 18v DC)
* CF slot for OS
Look like $140usd, for small numbers, next price break at 40pcs.
Does this look any better for people? Its a substantially faster cpu than
the 100 - 133MHz on the lower end Soekris boards. Its also a bit less
kitchen sink than the high end Soekris boards, and they wont have a
competing product until who knows when.
I already have a very limited number of MiniPCI cards (30mW lucent based
B, or 100mW Atheros based abg), with more to follow hopefully.
Your comments appreciated.
Jamie
