You would know better than me but I think that the permanent connection is
for the 'online' capability.
My understanding though is that the advantage of this software is once the
call is set up it uses p2p routing for the voice.

6. Payment.

What's a nice way of saying "fuck that for a joke"? It also appears to
use a central server (beta*.skype.net), and set up a permanent
connection with mymediacom.tv:http. Not very useful for free (as in
beer), open wireless application.
