With firmware mods etc, it can be done. While I have not done it, I am told
it is not that hard (this was from a Cisco/LinkSys coder)

A much greater level of security, most decent VPN setups provide
username/password access with certificates. This provides a level of
security not worth cracking unless you really wanted to. Most crackers have
time against them, so coupling VPN security with WEP creates an unacceptable
level of time for a cracker to get in, by that time the cracker would have
driven past, or his parking meter would have expired.
