I was just going along with a format similar to what you see globally.
Where .mw or similar replaces the country .au .nz or whatever, and then
oef .pen .inn replaces where you would normally see .com .edu .gov etc.
Personally I'd like to see some sort of region in there somewhere so that
you know, hey this address is .pen, it's probably going to be a bit slower
than an address that is .oef which is right in my neck of the woods.
As for AP's not running much, mine is probably running too much. At the
moment i've got WWW, FTP, IRC, SMB shares, did have an Unreal Tournament
server but trying a few other game servers at the moment. I'm also planning
on latching on another box to to host Win2k game servers not available for
linux.
As for a DNS that resolves both wireless addresses and internet addresses,
my AP's DNS server appears to be doing that at the moment as I noticed a
helluva lot of DNS activity last night when I ran a tcpdump on it's LAN
interface. Exactly how much data is DNS likely to consume? I don't mind if
it's resolving internet addresses for people connected to me via wireless
as long as it's not taking too much of my bandwidth away.
