Any time. Am happy to help.

One thing I did forget yesterday, as I was mainly focusing on community
projects, is Sydney Airport. You may be able to verify this with Sydney
Airport, or Cisco Systems, but I believe that Sydney Airport has a
deployment of around 150 Cisco AP's which are used for anything from
hooking up information boothes, to connecting some of the busses that
are used on the Airport grounds. It is one of the largest and most
unique deployments I know of.
Another one that comes to mind, even though it no longer really exists,
is that I heard that for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, there was Wi-Fi
available on almost every lamp post within the main space at
Homebush. Apparantly the devices were disconnected at the end, but the
antennae remain. I think that one is more of an urban myth, but
something to check up on if you think it's worth it. Someone else on
this list may be able to better comment.

Thank you. If you are interested in footage or wish to join us, I am
sure some arrangement can be made.

I hope the above covers a bit more for you.
It is also worth noting that there are a number of WISP's that use
Wi-Fi, such as Alphalink in Melbourne (http://www.alphalink.com.au),
X-Net (which is apparantly more of a collective rather than an ISP based
in country Victoria; http://www.x.net.au), Agile Communications in
Adelaide, South Australia, which have used Wi-Fi for long distance links
but are now mainly using licensed wireless (http://www.agile.com.au),
and Ipera Communications which use both licensed wireless and Wi-Fi to
provide broadband to Newcastle in country New South Wales and
surrounding areas, and finally Big Air which us using Wi-Fi to provide
Broadband to some inner-city areas of Sydney, New South Wales
(http://www.bigair.com.au).
There are probably others, but this is all I know off the top of my
head.
There are various other Hot Spot providers which I am sure you know of
such as SkyNetGlobal (http://www.skynetglobal.com.au/), The Xone
(http://www.thexone.com.au/), Azure Wireless (http://www.azure.com.au/),
Airportal (http://www.airportal.com.au/), etc. Optus
(http://www.optus.com.au/). There may be more listed at
http://www.hotspotlist.com/au/ ..
I am sure other companies such as Simply Wireless
(http://www.simplywireless.com.au/), a Wireless Network Specialist
utiliising both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Accucom Systems Integration
(http://www.accucom.com.au/), a System Integrator who recently did a
Wi-Fi deployment for a large gas supply company, AustWireless.com who
supplies and installs Wi-Fi Australia wide
(http://www.austwireless.com/) may have some stories to tell.
I hope this helps. Contact me if you require any other details. I
personally know the guy's from Agile (you may want to ask why the move
from Wi-Fi to licensed), I think the guy I know from Ipera is on this
list, otherwise I should have his details somewhere, tracking down the
MD of Alphalink is fairly easy, and I have met the guy's from Big Air
and may be able to help there.
Regards
Jamie
