While moving the cards arround once more, I noticed that the working
card was in a pci slot with the label 'video' on it, probably meaning
busmaster-capable. Putting the second craddle in the second 'video-slot'
seems to fix all issues :) (with pci=biosirq of course)

/me dances arround happily, and thanks everyone :)

Btw, someone knows if the ricoh-based craddles can also handle 32 bit
cards?
