Eh?  What mentality was that?

Is your dislike of Perth based on jeuvenile jealousy? Or is it somewhat
founded by basing your opinion of a population on that of a few people
in Perth.  We would not think much of a population if we were to judge
them by your comments.

Can I guess that you were unhappy with the 'Perth mob' informing you
that interstate traffic through iinet is NOT free?  iiNet provides free
bandwidth for traffic destined to iiNet customers in the same state.
They also provide free bandwidth to destination IP's using the same
state internet exchanges such as WAIX and SAIX but not between then.  I
would be happy to link the wireless freenet's via a VPN or CIPE tunnel
if the bandwidth were free, but at this stage I don't think it is.  If
you can suggest a free medium I will set the tunnel up myself.

So was the 'mentality' you didn't like realism or common sense?
