Hi everyone,
I contacted Alphalink asking about using my own equipment to connect to
their network, and possible support for non Windows machines (I only
have macs and PC's running FreeBSD ATM).
This was the response...

Looks like I may need to put Windows on a spare machine... Or better
yet, Linux. Some quick googling shows it supports this wireless
adaptor.
FWIW, from the support pages it looks like they run a VPN over the
wireless connection
(http://wireless.alphalink.com.au/onlinehelp/xp_vpn.stm) and the
adaptors they use are Gigafast (Atmel) USB
(http://wireless.alphalink.com.au/onlinehelp/cpe_util.stm).
Just in case I'm not the only other person interested in this
information.
Cheers,
Eric
