Heavy rain can have an impact, though at 2.4 GHz, the effect is more likely
to be caused by damp foliage than the rain itself.  Damp foliage can also
come about due to lighter rain, drizzle, fog and dew.

Check your link margins under all sorts of conditions. :)

There are others here who would probably be able to provide a better
estimate of what kind of margins you need for fading and weather related
attenuation.
