grab a multimeter, set it to check resistence.
connect the pigtail to your main coax cable, disconnect the antenna and wifi
card.
do 3 things:
1. touch a probe to the outside of the mcx connector(pigtail) and the other
probe to the center pin of the N connector (on end of coax where it connects
to the antenna). multimeter should have full resistance or OL / (ie.
nothing should change on display).
2. put a probe on the center pin of the mcx connector and the other probe on
the center pin of your coax cable. multimeter should show very small
resistance ~ 50 ohm.
3. probe outer mcx connector and probe outer N connector - multimeter should
show small resistance again.
If you get different results, theres a short in the cable/connector, or a
broken cable/failure of connector somewhere.
