Hello Tony,
TL> Point taken, but that's only for one host on the network... How much of a
TL> problem that is depends on the network attached to it (in my case, it has a
TL> very minor influence).
The only problem is the people that don't run caching/name servers or
more to the point the people that want to update their setup to
accommodate the system, sure you will have your early adopters willing
to do almost anything to make it happen, but later there is a
potential for the joe bloggs that simply want connectivity and don't
care there is an internal system of DNS, they just want their IP
space, they'll go off game with their friends and that's all they'll
ever do/care about. It may however be more enticing for those people
to do other things with local content if they aren't forced to make
huge changes to the way their system is setup and works, lowest common
denominator as it were... Build a system easy to use, with minimal
disruption to how their existing system works and users will feel a
lot happier, as there may be people out there willing to get on board
but making all sorts of strange configuration changes to their PC
could alienate them in the process...
/2cents...
