I personally like being able to see the address, though a couple of
extra steps would be extra nice, eg:
- 1) URL/form encode the email address, eg: so fenn_b at smktech.com.au
becomes "%66%65%6E%6E_b%40s%6Dkt%65ch.co%6D.%61u". That way, IE/etc
reads it fine, but it should baffle the bulk of spam bots.
- 2) A random .nospam. thing would be nice. eg:
fenn_b at remove!this*please.smktech.com.au
where the words "remove", "this", and "please" are randomizable out of a
set (so you get a heap of permutations and the characters separating
them are also random out of say, !, #, *, ., and - (or whatever).
Maybe that's taking it to an extreme, but it means you get the nicety of
being able to read an address with minimal chances of it being found by
a bot :)
Fenn.
