Very nice indeed.
The network connectivity graph is a very sorry sight though (not because of
the page just the number of links).
That one massive link down the south eastern side of melbourne is
impressive though!

rejoice.. be merry.. locfinder v2 is almost upon us...
v2 is a total rewrite from v1, using php and a MySQL backend.
It's almost ready from production release, however I'd like to stress test
it and get as much feedback as I can.
Your all welcome to head over to
http://melbourne.wireless.org.au/~yob/locfinder and have a go. As it says
on
the front page, this is a beta/stress test, and all the data will be
reimported from v1 before we go live, so feel free to make up data, record
non-existant links, etc.
We have access to some really nice data for the maps, but unfortunately we
need to sort out some licensing issues, so until then, the maps will be a
little plain :-( Hopefully the issues can be sorted in the next week or so
before we go live.
Please send all feedback to jimmy at deefa.com, but before you do _read_ the
todo list and faq.
There isnt a comprehensive list of new features, but the major ones are
things like:
- running our own mapserver
- ip allocations
- ability to specify the interfaces on a node
- automatic calculation of things EIRP and SOM, providing enough
data has been supplied
- automatic culling of nodes that havent been updated after 9 months,
with monthly reminders to the owner after 6 months.
- ability to record and display links
- ability to store and search services available on the network
- ability to search for nodes based on various criteria
- number of closest nodes shown is limited to speed dl times
have fun!
James
