Very reasonable Tyson, and I agree.  Cartainly those of us who run services
can keep log files (I usually keep mine for 1-6 months or more), and there's
probably a small amount that can be done from a traffic PoV.

If we're running an actual Internet gateway (now here's a good reason to
make sure it's within your ISP's AUP :) ), there's a lot more you can do, as
you're the jump point for traffic entering/leaving the network.

I certainly don't want to be looked over by Big Brother, but I do agree that
we should be in a position to cooperate as far as possible with law
enforcement agencies when they need our help.

The rest of it comes down to documentation - IP address information should
reveal the nearest AP where the traffic enters our network, stuff like
that...
