Hi,
I've managed to pick up a free Celeron 400MHz Processor with a Slot 1
motherboard. However, the motherboard is only PCI 2.1 compliant, and most
WiFi cards/cradles require PCI 2.2.
The board is "Lucky-Star" brand (heh, took me a while to figure that one
out), with a VIA VT82C691 northbridge and a VIA VT82C596 southbridge.
Has anyone had any success with a PCI WiFi card or PCMCIA/PCI Cradle in a
PCI 2.1 motherboard?
If so, which cards/cradles work best?
Or is it too much of a risk, and in which case i will prolly purchase an AP.
The celeron box will still be used as a wireless gateway/router in
conjunction with the AP.
I would really like to play around with IPv6, VPNs, and other cool things,
but i am afraid it wont work through an AP. Or do they?
thanks,
nudge
