I have never ever had anyone ever say they had trouble with the context in my
messages, and I delete excess quotage.

I see it as a matter of politeness. You don't mumble or spit when talking to
someone, so why not spend a fraction of a second (well, minute) making your
email come across nicely?

Bruce Sterling was right on this issue, email is arguably the greatest public
exposure most people will get in their lives, and yet if they were on TV
they'd have a shave and wear nice clothes.

And decent quoting techniques would reduce this probably 50-fold
