I'll note we've already done this for the northern suburbs, to some
extent, in an attempt to draw people together and get some links
happening - check the WG wiki page for WGInnerNorth.
Which reminds me, we're gathering tomorrow (I'd call it a meeting, but
it's nothing quite so formal ;) to put faces to email addresses and
start finding out who's near who. Anyone in the vicinity welcome.
It'll be around midday, at my place (drop me a line for directions if
you plan on coming).
I'll also be at the meeting tonight, if I can get my act into gear.
