[MLB-WIRELESS] Orinoco Silver v8.10 flash

Has anyone had any success downgrading from version 8.10 ?

I have run the flash uploader, and it says it worked, so I close the program 
and then eject the card, and reinsert the card, and it comes up as ver 8.10 
still! I have tried ver 7.xx and 6.xx and neither of them stick...

I ask because I need to do some wep cracking :)
