I'd say over a 3km distance with a good line of sight it shouldn't have to much 
effect on the wireless equipment..

Just wondering how much high voltage power lines will affect wireless
transmissions.

Heres a pic from my house to a potential node (approx. 3km away):

exscuse the blurry image as it was taken with a digital camera through some
binoculars =)

We're currently in exam mode, so we're not sure if we have total LoS (but it
looks pretty good from the pic).  We'll get on the roof and start waving in
a few weeks time.

So yeah, back to the original question, will the HV lines have any affect on
the wireless link?
