Hello friends, we tried to solve the situation in complicated terrain with chaining (bridging) one AP to another. There are two ways to make it - using repeat mode in premade WAP's or use two WL interfaces with some miniPC. The first one is not allowed by all of the AP's available - e.g. Linksys does not provide that fn (does anybodey know how to "make" it available on that AP?) and not all 802.11b WAPs work together. And someone say the netspeed gets slower in repeat mode. But the power consumption is significantly less than in the second case. Which way do you recommend?
thank you very much Terrain is a big problem with microwave communications. What are some innovative ways around this issue?
