[MLB-WIRELESS] Anyone seen these omis? ($28 each)

Hi,

I've been doing some looking around for antennas and came across these 
5.0 dBi external omni antennas for AU$28 each;

Has anyone tried them or have any comments about their effective use? 
Desired potential purpose here is to enable 1-3 people who live around 
500-1000m away to connect to me...
