Hi Folks,
I'd like a little clarification.
What's the difference between an AP that can allow access to certain MAC
addresses and an actual wireless router ?
Does the wireless router differ in that it can also allow different MAC
addresses on the "wireless" side of the network to communicate with each
other without crossing the wireless/ethernet boundary ?
Application being: Setting up a Point to Point link and want to allow
data from only 1 other mac address to pass onto the network - would an
AP with MAC discrimination suffice ? What would be the advantage of
using a wireless router in a point to point link ? (little I should
think assuming WEP is the only form of security)
Cheers,
Vaskos
