my brother, who used to share a chello connection via means best not
discussed, claims they were shut down by austar (through whom they had
their satellite access), who are in a general panic mode trying to
stay afloat.

the comedown from 10Mbps, uncapped, to 56Kbps, 400M/month max is
apparently "brutal" ;-)
