Data over voice is a marketing thing, ISDN is a pure digital link the
voice service
is requested in the bearer capability IE of a setup message and is used
for charging.
The service requested will only impact if the call is routed through an
analogue bearer.
This may happen on international and STD trunk routes.
You will get a 64k hole whether or either a speech, 3.1k audio, or 64k
digital
bearer capability.
56k is not so much supported as ignored, it is an american thing and the
data is pushed
through a 64k hole. You get 56k by robbing the LSB out of 8 bits. This
has no effect on voice,
but screws digital hence 56k was invented. There is a 56k restricted
digital bearer
capability defined in the standard but nobody uses it localy.
