I'd have to check, but the airport card comes in a cradle that is slotted
into the mac; I think it's actually a pcmcia card (Lucent Orinoco). You
have to plug the pigtail adaptor in that is provided in the mac (internal
antenna) when installing.
As I said, I'd have to physically check the card, I didn't take too much
notice when I was installing it.
One thing to look for: is it the newer Airport card?

apparently this site has the apple airport cards on special for
$47.50 US. they only work AFAIK in apple computers with the
dedicated airport slot - ibooks, g3 and g4 powerbooks and towers,
imacs.
does anyone have any info on external antenna hacks, or using these
cards in a normal pcmcia slot?
