Has anyone done any testing comparing different antennas?
i got a old-Galaxy one as well, but is there anything better to use?
I mean by the time you stuffaround with it, time might be better used in
making a different version up.?
Just asking???

Sounds like a good idea. I am in the process of getting my hands on two
to mod.

I have an old ex-Galaxy I want to modify. Not exactly brain surgery, by
all accounts, but at least I'd get around to doing it in this kind of
medium. How about doing a few of the less intricate mods, and taking a
vote on a major antenna build?

Ok so what know who is the Linux guru around here. I certainly am not.
With regard to the antennas.
I have a dremel and drill press that we can use for the night or day.
What other tools do we need...What Antenna are we gunna build or are we
going to do mods?
Parts lists anyone.

Now that is the spirit! Great suggestion Simon.
I for one would be at an antenna or Linux-AP workshop with bells on.
Put together a list of required parts, pick a venue (chip-in for power
and/or hall hire) and lets get together. It can even be "train the
trainer" type of event, once I know what I'm doing I would happily run a
workshop in Geelong to show the locals that don't want to travel to
Melbourne or the next wave of wireless take-ups.
Andy.

Now that's the spirit...Come on and lets get out there and ask about.
I will be keeping a look out for any APs that might be useful.
So when and where is the first workshop for
1) Building Antennas
2) Buiding an AP with Linux
