which is the polite way of saying what i tried to say, in a, well,
not so polite way.
"ask not what melbwireless can do for you, but what you can do for
melbwireless"
to paraphrase
>Lucas it really sounds like this is not for you. For the early
>stages this is really going to be for dedicated people with an
>interest in the technology and an interest in setting up and problem
>solving. It sounds to me like you should be joining in 2 years down
>the track when things are up and running (hopefully), and it's just
>a case of you putting an antenna on your roof and pointing to your
>local AP 2k's away.
>
>What you want just doesn't exist yet and it seems instead of
>offering ideas you want to know how and when we are going to cross
>bridges that we simply haven't got in sight of yet.
>
> > "I would want to talk to people interstate/overseas, local is of no
>> interest as phone call is cheap."
>
>Not gonna happen

>> is this going to be housed?"

>> Wireless will die in 6 months.
>> A thousand dollars is a lot of money to me, to some it may be chicken
> > feed, but not to me, thats about 14 months of my optus cable usage..."

>Then stick with your Optus cable which provides you with everything
>you want. No good trying to get involved with Melbwireless now in
>the hope that you will be able to do everything you could on Optus
>cable but for free when they may not happen for 5 years if ever.

>> track russian satelites, Find Osma Bin Laden for the reward, get $1 for
>> every every Microsoft product sold, but these are just pure fantasy.

>They meant you could do anything that you can currently do on the

>If you are looking for justification you are just a consumer who
>should only be with an ISP i think. Melbwireless would have to be
>regarded also as a hobby I believe.

>I think you are expecting too much too soon with little or no effort
>involved in achieving it.
