Thought this may be relevant to those trying to guess expected range for
different antennas
Taken from Cisco Aironet Antenna's datasheets
Type VBeam HBeam Rng at 2MBs Rng at 11MBs
5.2 dbi Omni 75 deg 360 deg 1500M 500M
12 dbi Omni 7 deg 360 deg 7.4Km 2.3Km
13.5 dbi Yagi 25 deg 30 deg 10.5Km 3.3Km
21 dbi Dish 12 deg 12 deg 40Km 18.5Km
Notes/Assumptions
- using the same antenna with 15M cisco cable (3.4 db loss) at both ends.
- using 100mw devices
- ideal conditions.... blah blah blah etc etc etc
Going by these figures you'd hope to get atleast 10-15km with a
Lucent/Galaxy combination which is encouraging!
