Sure Tom, but you try and go find a carrier interested in offering you a voice service with packet buffering and QOS parameters. If
you've ever tried to use your cisco softphone to dial into your work pabx from a commercial wlan access point you'll know what I
mean.

One of the companies I consult for already has the capabilities to provide a softswitch to provide dial tone less voice calls along
with a host of conference call setup and Unified Messaging features we also have the capability to provide video based dial and
conference capability BUT not a single commercial Wlan provider in Australia has taken up the offer for a trial server.

The news here is not that it is possible but a wisp is providing the service.

Not hard to do, there are many iPAQ applications which will do VoIP.

We recently did a demo of wireless IP Tel, where the iPAQ had an
extension number and could make/receive calls via Cisco Wireless
networking gear and the Cisco IP Tel solution.
