Hello Ben,

Another thought just occurred to me, if the population is so spread
out, then unless you're on a mountain top the likelihood that an amp
doing much benefit is minimal, as hills would be in your way of
connecting to too many people simultaneously, and that point to point
links are the most likely to occur... I concede that using amps in say
small towns may be ok, then again if they are small, chances are it
wouldn't be needed to go that distance anyway... Actually I'm having a
hard time justifying most situations people have presented (in the
general sense, obviously situations vary) as being ok to use amps
in...

8dBi omni to 8dBi omni will do 5 to 7km in an area without noise, so
if there was a 24dBi dish at the other end, what benefit is there in
using an amp? hell modify unused satellite dishes, and well you have a
hell of a range...
