i was surprised at the price of the Proxim gear: US$249/card is far
cheaper than i had expected.  i imagine that they're desperately
trying to claw back some market share after the last couple of years
of stiff 802.11b competition ;-)

with their proprietry x2 mode, 100Mbps @ A$500/node is very nice ;-)
