[MLB-WIRELESS] DNS, DHCP, static ip...

Im still trying to work out why people want to use the 172. address's over
the 10. address's.

Lots of companys use both the 172.16.X.X range and the 10.x.x.x range for
the internal network.
Mostly this is class c subnets ( 256 address's) or supernet ( 2 x 256
address's)

remember people that the following ranges are reserved

     10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 (10/8 prefix) 65000+
class "c" address's
     172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 (172.16/12 prefix) 4096 Class
"c" address's
     192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 (192.168/16 prefix) 256 Class
"c" address's

even if we exclude the populate class "c" subnet address's from the 10.X.X.X
range we still have 60,000 more class "c" ranges to playwith over the
172.16.X.X range.

so if we exclude say the 10.0.0.X - 10.0.256.X and any other ranges that
people know that clients are using then we should be able to use the
10.x.x.x range very nicely.

Thanks

Peter Rogers

PS i hope this made sense ( its late.)
