If anyone is interested, the Linux Users of Victoria group is holding an
installfest in Melbourne on Sunday, November 4. If anyone is considering
using Linux as a gateway for a wireless connection, it might pay you to go
along and install a system in a loving, caring, supportive (insert sounds of
dry wretching here) environment.
FWIW, I attended a LUV installfest when I first decided to try Linux. You
learn heaps about the operating system and the installers actually take the
time to explain what they are setting up and why. If you plan on doing
anything on a wireless connection using Linux - from running IRC servers to
Web servers, hosting games and more - it's worth your effort to get there
and ask/install.

Also, once things settle, is it worthwhile melbwireless approaching groups
such as LUV to give wireless talks and attend installfests as another "open
source" community?
