A good way to line things up is to have a bunch of helium filled party 
balloons (perhaps rude ones from Sexpo to make sure they attract your 
attention) bobbing around at the target.  Easy to spot with binoculars and 
should be a doddle to aim.   Of course, you can go fancy pants high tech 
and use a GPS and compass to align it.
